What if you bought US stocks in 1998 and hold until now?
Well, during the 10 years, you would have lived your life fully. You would have ride the internet bubble and become a wealthy new economy elite. Then after the dotcom bubble burst, you would be wiped out and reset to be a poor guy again. If you managed to hold on your stocks, you would have experienced another come back and gained back all your wealth riding the US housing bubble. If you continued your buy and hold strategy, as of today’s close, you would be get back to where you were in 1998. What a life!
The key now, is how to catch the next wave up.
The challenge is buy at the lowest portion of the wave.
Life is full of opportunities. Be patient.

interesting chart. a 2nd thought, if you put your money in China or India since 1998, the result would be very different, even after the discount in the past year.
